INTECH Corporate QHSE Safety Induction Video - Case Study

INTECH required a corporate QHSE office video for its engineering workplace in Pakistan, a US-headquartered Operational Technology company.

For QHSE Managers, Administration Heads, HR, and IMS owners, a corporate office is a controlled workplace. Safety Induction has to cover identity, workplace behaviour, occupational health, and the emergency architecture of the floor in the order a person actually walks it.

The safety film serves two purposes:

1. Company & Office Introduction

2. Corporate Safety Orientation.

It is shown to visitors, contractors, new inductions, and employees. The same master is used when project teams from global Operational Technology, oil and gas, and multinational organisations attend the Lahore, Pakistan office. Everyone who crosses reception sees the same Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and information-security rules that the office is certified against.

Creative Engine planned the production as corporate videography of a live office, wrote the script against that floor, and took approval from INTECH’s head office before our HSE DoPs started a video shoot.

Pre production process

What does this Corporate safety video have to showcase

The Lahore office runs design, software, hardware, engineering, and operations work under a four-standard IMS. Those standards are why the film exists, according to the company’s protocols, in light of the certifications below:

  • ISO 9001: controlled quality of work, and of the information shown to visitors
  • ISO 14001: environmental behaviour inside a managed premises
  • ISO 45001: occupational health and safety for people who work here and people who only visit
  • ISO 27001: physical access, identity, and what may not enter an engineering office

A visitor who has never walked this floor still has to understand workplace behaviour expectations, how to move, what is forbidden, where first aid is located, how to raise an alarm, and which fire system belongs to which room.

Who the corporate orientation video serves

One master, so INTECH does not run four briefings.

  • Visitor: identity at reception, host name, card scan, escort, posted QHSE policy
  • Contractor: the same access path, plus stop-work authority and reporting line
  • New induction and employee: workplace behaviour, amenities, first aiders, and the emergency architecture of this office
  • Client teams from global OT, oil and gas, and multinational organisations: proof that the Lahore division runs to the same IMS the parent company is certified against

The last group is why this is a corporate safety video rather than an internal HR clip. When an external technical team sits in this office, the induction is part of how INTECH presents operational discipline. The film has to be accurate enough for QHSE and presentable enough for that visit.

Corporate QHSE path

The script is a visitor path.

  • Identity and access: reception, host name, visitor card scan, escort
  • IMS on the walls: Quality and HSE / HSSE policy boards, with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 27001 on camera
  • The work being protected: software, hardware, automation, IoT and embedded testing lab, HR, marketing
  • Behaviour and restrictions: drugs, weapons, hazardous materials, pets, sharps, and stop-work authority
  • Occupational health: first-aid boxes and first aiders, kitchen, play area, smoking terrace
  • Emergency architecture: posted plan, manual call point / break-glass, exits, assembly, office fire, and electrical suppression for servers, IT, and IoT

Each node is a filmed procedure. If a scene did not change what a person must do, it did not stay in the cut.

Departments inside the QHSE office video

The production covered the departments on that path.

  • QHSE: owner of induction, first-aider lists, policy communication
  • HR & Marketing: visitor-facing rooms and the standard of presentation the office has to maintain
  • Software: screen-based engineering work, electrical load, and information-security behaviour
  • Hardware: benches, tools, powered assemblies
  • Software and hardware automation: the operational-technology work the office exists to deliver
  • Testing laboratory for IoT devices and embedded systems: live powered devices, a different fire class than a meeting room

Those rooms are why the fire chapter is not a single extinguisher shot. A server row, an IoT bench, and a reception lobby do not share one suppression answer. The corporate safety video has to show that difference.

Pre-production: a corporate videography visit

Creative Engine’s corporate video production team visited the INTECH Lahore office first. The purpose of that visit was to write the script and the storyboard against the real floor.

  • Walk the visitor route from the street door to assembly
  • Sit with QHSE on which ISO clauses must be visible, not merely claimed
  • Identify every department the induction has to pass: HR, marketing, software, hardware, automation, IoT and embedded test
  • Photograph the actual premises: reception desk, card reader, policy boards, first-aid points, terrace, kitchen, play area, MCP positions, exits, fire hardware, lab and server protection

The storyboard was built from those stills. The PDF INTECH approved is the visual flow of this office: real corridors, real boards, real equipment. No stock interiors, no cinematic moodboard, no generic HSE icon set.

That document does two jobs.

  • QHSE can check the storyboard against the floor before a camera rolls
  • Head office reviewers can see the exact shots they are authorising

Script and storyboard moved together. If a line could not be pointed at a still, it was rewritten or cut.

Production: corporate director, HSE DOP, extra coverage by design

Once the United States head office signed the storyboard, production was led by Creative Engine’s corporate video production director, in collaboration with the HSE department’s Director of Photography, assistants, and editors.

  • The corporate director owns visitor-facing tone, department geography, and the fact that this is an office film
  • The HSE DOP owns procedural accuracy: card scan, policy boards, MCP, extinguisher instruction, electrical fire hardware, assembly path

Shot against the approved timeline, plus a planned buffer

Every section of the office was covered in storyboard order: reception, access control, IMS boards, departments, restrictions, occupational-health points, emergency plan, exits, fire systems.

On top of the approved frames, the crew recorded a planned extra-coverage buffer — additional angles, inserts, and room-tone of the same locations.

That buffer protects the client’s calendar.

  • Voiceover often reveals a line that needs a matching insert: a board, a sensor, a door, a first-aid label that was not obvious on paper
  • Head-office notes at picture lock are usually “show that MCP again,” not “rebuild the film”
  • Extra coverage is already in the bin. No second shoot. No extra charge

Live-office constraints the crew planned for:

  • Reception and card readers stay in service
  • Drawings, screens, and lab benches are treated as ISO 27001 assets
  • The crew works as a visitor

FAQs

A. Identity and access: the induction starts at reception

The film opens on the workplace, then on the rule: the safety of people, visitors, and contractors is the first priority.

On arrival, the visitor:

  • States the visit and the host/representative’s name at reception
  • Receives and scans the visitor card
  • Enters only after that scan
  • Is received by an INTECH employee. Movement inside the office is escorted, not self-directed

That sequence is the ISO 27001 layer of a corporate HSE induction. If the card is not in the cut, access control is only a policy PDF.

B. IMS on the walls:Quality and HSE policies as evidence

INTECH’s Quality and HSE / HSSE policies are displayed at multiple locations, not parked in a single frame behind reception.

The camera treats those boards as controlled documents: readable, placed where a visitor actually walks, consistent with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 27001.

For an IMS audit, “we have a policy” is a statement. “The policy is posted on the route every visitor takes, and the induction film shows that route” is evidence. The corporate orientation video is that evidence, replayable.

C. The work the office exists to do

After access and policy, the film shows why this workplace has a QHSE standard: technical teams on operational-technology work: software, hardware, automation, IoT and embedded systems, alongside HR and marketing functions that receive guests.

Corporate videography here is documentation of the real rooms, under the same behaviour rules the rest of the induction will enforce. A visiting technical team recognises an engineering floor.

D. Workplace behaviour expectations and restricted items

Corporate occupational health and safety is largely behaviour. The film states a hard list, on the premises.

Prohibited inside the office:

  • Drugs
  • Weapons
  • Hazardous materials
  • Pets
  • Sharp objects

That list is the workplace behaviour contract. It applies to employees and to every visitor and contractor on the same path. It is one of the few sentences in an office induction that has to be unambiguous in every language the voiceover will carry.

Stop-work sits in the same chapter. Anyone may stop unsafe work and must report an incident or hazard to QHSE or a responsible person. In this office that sentence covers electrical rooms, blocked exits, and unescorted access. The film gives that authority a face and a reporting line.

E. Occupational health on this floor

An occupational health and safety video for an office has to show where a person goes when something is already wrong, and where the workplace is allowed to be ordinary.

  • First aid. Boxes and first-aider contacts are at reception and in the QHSE office. The film shows both points so a visitor is not told “first aid is available” without a place
  • Kitchen. A controlled amenity, on the information-sign path
  • Play area. Part of the occupied workplace, so it belongs in the orientation
  • Designated smoking area: the terrace. The film locates it so “no smoking on the floor” is a geography, not a tone

Information signs on the premises are treated as wayfinding for safety. If the sign is in the storyboard still, it is in the cut.

F. Emergency architecture: plan, MCP, exits, assembly

This chapter is a procedure.

  • The emergency response plan is posted at multiple locations. The film asks the viewer to read the one they are standing under
  • Stay calm
  • Activate the manual call point, break the emergency glass
  • Use the filmed exit path: how to leave, and where that door puts you
  • Gather at the designated assembly point

The evacuation coverage is how and where to exit this office, shot on the real stairs and doors. A three-minute corporate orientation video cannot run a full muster on camera. It can make the route unforgettable.

Manual call points are shown as an action, break glass / activate, because an office induction that only says “raise the alarm” leaves the device untaught.

G. Fire protection for an engineering office

INTECH’s film shows the office as a split fire system.

Occupied office:

  • Fire detection sensors
  • Fire alarms
  • Automatic fire sprinkler coverage
  • Portable extinguishers on the public path

Electrical and engineering rooms:

  • Servers
  • IT laboratories
  • Embedded-systems and IoT device testing

Those rooms carry electrical fire risk that water-based office protection is not meant to finish. The film shows the electrical-rated extinguishing and electrical-safety provision installed for that kit, distinct from the floor extinguishers a visitor passes in a corridor.

QHSE officer: extinguisher induction

On camera, INTECH’s QHSE officer instructs on how to operate a fire extinguisher for these premises. It is an induction: correct use in the real location, by the person who owns the system.

The viewer sees who may teach the device and which hardware belongs to which part of the office. Facilities and QHSE can replay that clip without restaging an emergency.

Delivery: multilingual voiceover, 4K, seven working days

Post-production stayed within the approved script.

  • Multilingual voiceover on the same picture lock, so visitors, contractors, and new inductees hear the same procedures
  • Master delivered in 4K
  • Seven working days from the approved storyboard through the 4K master, including the extra-coverage buffer that absorbed voiceover inserts and head-office notes without a recall to site

Seven days is possible because the expensive decisions were made on stills, in a PDF, with the head office, before the crew occupied reception. The shoot does not discover the film. The shoot executes it.

The runtime of the induction is three minutes and one second: long enough for the path, short enough to run at reception before a meeting.

What the film is evidence of

  • Visitor identity (ISO 27001): reception, host name, card scan, escort, on the real desk
  • IMS awareness (ISO 9001 and 45001): Quality and HSE boards on the walking route
  • Workplace behaviour: prohibited items and stop-work, spoken on the floor
  • Occupational health: boxes and first aiders at reception and QHSE
  • Emergency competence: posted plan, MCP, filmed exits, assembly
  • Electrical and lab fire: office sprinklers and alarms, and server / IT / IoT electrical systems, with the QHSE officer on the device
  • External technical visits: a QHSE office video that will still be shown when multinational OT and oil-and-gas teams sit in Lahore

The film is the controlled induction artefact: same path, same standards, same runtime, every time.

Why Creative Engine

This brief had three constraints at once: a live Lahore office, an IMS-accurate QHSE induction, and sign-off from a United States head office. Creative Engine exists for that overlap: corporate videography and HSE video production in one unit, with an approval path overseas reviewers can sign off on before the shoot.

  • INTECH did not have to split the film between a brand agency and a safety trainer. Corporate tone and QHSE accuracy sat with one accountable team.
  • Head-office approval was the workflow, not a late surprise. Lahore executed a document the United States had already signed.
  • The master had to work at reception and still stand as IMS evidence. Runtime, language versions, and 4K delivery were specified against that use.
  • INTECH’s calendar was treated as part of QHSE. Extra coverage on the shoot day meant voiceover and US notes did not become a second mobilisation or a change order.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this corporate orientation video for?

Visitors, contractors, new inductees, and employees. The same master is used when client teams from global Operational Technology, oil and gas, and multinational organisations attend the Lahore office.

Why is ISO 27001 in an occupational health and safety video?

In an engineering office, access is a safety and security control. Visitor card, host name, escort, and restricted items are physical information security. Filming them is how the induction matches the certificate on the wall.

Who approved the script if the office is in Lahore?

INTECH’s United States head office. Creative Engine’s first output was a storyboard PDF built from real office stills, so US reviewers could sign the exact frames before production. That is how we run corporate videography for US-headquartered clients with Pakistan sites.

Why shoot extra coverage if the storyboard is already approved?

Voiceover and late head-office notes almost always need inserts, not a new film. Extra shots of the same approved locations are taken on the shoot day so those notes do not trigger a second mobilisation, and they are not billed as a change order.

Did this replace a live briefing?

No. The film standardises what every visitor, contractor, new induction, and employee sees. Hosts still receive guests. QHSE still owns exceptions. The video removes the version-control problem: four hosts, four briefings.

Can this structure be used for other corporate offices?

Yes. The method is visit, still-based storyboard, head-office approval, corporate director and HSE DOP, buffer coverage, multilingual 4K. The rooms will change. The path logic does not.
